Environmental Models are used to help us understand and make predictions about aspects of the natural environment in which we live an on whose services we depend. Numerous models have been created by researchers in the various disciplines within the environmental sciences and these have contributes to our rich understanding of many aspects of our world. The weakness of this approach is that many models tend to be discipline specific and limited in geographical extent. To gain a transdiscplinary understanding of the environment requires expert synthesis of the outputs of multiple models. A better approach is to link existing models together so that they can communicate and exchange information at run-time producing a virtual model of multiple aspects of the environment.
The call for papers is now open for both oral presentations and posters. Abstracts should be submitted to: [email protected].
