Summer school entitled "Molecular and structural complexity of soil organic matter formation and turnover" sponsored by MOLTER, www.molter.no.

The summer school aims at bringing together young and established scientists of different disciplines in soil science
(biology, chemistry, physics, modeling) to interact in an interdisciplinary course related to studying SOM, its formation, properties and function.

The scientific format of the summer school includes lectures by leading experts in soil science (soil organic matter formation and properties at different scales, soil system processes, modelling) as well as student presentations. Informal evening gatherings leave room for plenty of fruitful discussions

Confirmed speakers include Jon Chorover, Johan Six, Kai Uwe Totsche, Pascal Boeckx, Karsten Kalbitz, Andreas Richter, Cornelia Rumpel, Michael Schmidt and Daniel Rasse.

The deadline for application is the 15th of November 2011. For more details please visit http://www.soil-science.com/som.
