The project will focus on microbial responses to climate change factors in soil, including in particular the responses of microbial growth rate, community property and carbon-use efficiency todrought, and recurring drought cycles in soil. The project will be laboratory-intensive, where experimental systems(microcosms) will be used to estimate ecosystem level processes. The candidate will also be expected to helpsupervise PhD, Masters or Bachelor thesis project students working on related projects.
