- The Norwegian Nature Index 2010
- The Nature Index (NI) was established to provide an overview of the state and development of biodiversity in the major ecosystems in Norway, the marine, limnic (freshwater) and terrestrial ecosystems, and thereby measure progress towards the goal of halting the loss of biodiversity. This report gives a brief presentation of the NI framework, the background and context, and the implementation and main results for Norway.

- Since the financial crisis there has been a decrease in funding for and a loss of visibility of biodiversity research in the successive European Research Framework Programmes. The new framework programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon 2020, illustrates quite well this trend and leaves biodiversity research to find bits and pieces under “climate action, resource efficiency and raw materials” or "Food security, sustainable agriculture, marine and maritime research and the bio-economy"
