iDiv Summer School 2016: Biodiversity Synthesis and Integration

Added: 22 March 2016. Closing date: 03 April 2016

The German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jenna-Leipzig, a global hub for biodiversity science, invites graduate students to apply to its second summer school taking place in Leipzig, Germany, from 19 - 25 June 2016.

The summer school mingles 20 promising young researchers and experienced researchers in a relaxed and constructive atmosphere. The overarching aim of the summer school is that students and researchers benefit from their common work by publishing together the results of their research project. The programme will consist of daily plenaries on integrative biodiversity study, launching the day with a methodological talk and finishing with a keynote lecture. The greatest part of the programme will be dedicated to research projects, designed by in-house researchers of iDiv to be completed by 3-5 students, with objectives of article submission. Opportunities will also be available to encounter and chat with the local researchers.

The summer school is aimed mainly at PhD students working on biodiversity topics, but applications from advanced master’s level students will be considered. Travel grants are also available, based on quality and resources of the applicants, covering part or all travel and accommodation costs.

For more details, please consult our webpage summerschool.idiv.de. The deadline for application to the summer school is Sunday, 03 April 2016.
