ALTER-Net aims to facilitate meaningful interactions and transfer of knowledge between researchers and policymakers, including the European Commission, the International Panel for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), and more. In 2019, ALTER-Net agreed to manage the EKLIPSE mechanism beginning in 2020 as part of its commitment to the European science-policy interface. ALTER-Net is a 'knowledge hub' in the BiodiversityKnowledge Network of Knowledge. We also support and promote SPI seminars hosted by our partners.
